Is there an online store that specializes in demure prom dresses

There are several online stores that specialize in conservative and demure prom dresses. They are catering to teenagers who are coming of age in conservative families and who want to wear their values, quite literally, on their sleeves.

Most mainstream retailers have been slower to pick up on the trend, but some stores that do big prom business, like Nicole Miller, have taken notice with their own more conservative dresses.

Holly Beck began her online label called DresZing in 2001 to give teenagers a variety of fashionable, conservative options. A Mormon herself, Beck says her clientele includes Muslims and Orthodox Jews whose religion dictates that they dress modestly.

Beck designs her dresses for girls with the idea that modesty should not have to come at the price of fashion. Her clients dresses may have sleeves and a higher neckline, but she tries to make them with trendy fabrics and styles.

Beck follows the trends by reading fashion magazines and scrutinizing Oscar gowns. One of Beck s most popular dresses is The Alicia, which has black Trouwjurken velvet sleeves, a silver satin bodice and a velvet-trimmed hemline.

Salespeople at Nicole Miller offer colorful shawls for girls who want to cover their shoulders Een Korte Trouwjurk Schouder Prom Dresses or decolletage. And while backless dresses may be found in the store, less revealing choices are available for any client s style and body shape, said Irena Budimova, a saleswoman at the designer s Madison Avenue store.
